Dental photography could be both simple and beautiful. But without knowing what you actually need it may become a nightmare.
This article can guide you if you are unsure about where to begin.
1. Buy the necessary photo equipment.
What you actually need is:
Camera body whether it is DSLR or mirrorless
Lens (Zoom or Macro) – Macro is Preferred
Macro flash (Ring flash or Twin flash)

2. Prepare your gear:
Check batteries
Check SD card capacity.
Check recommended infection control protocol

2. Prepare your gear:
Image quality: RAW + JPEG
White balance: Flash
Iso: 100 – 400
AF points: Single
Correct date and time
Color space: Adobe RG
Shutter speed varies from 1/100 to 1/200
Aperture varies from extra-oral to Intral-oral

4. Buy the necessary dental photography accessories:
Dental Photography mirrors.
Retractors
Contrastors
5. Practice on your assistant
or your friend to be your model and start with intraoral photographs. Practice on the team is mandatory before taking pictures of your patient. When you feel confident with your skills, it’s time to start the journey with your own patients.
6. Practice is the secret! Keep practicing to get more professional results.

Starting from scratch seems hard, i know that.
But don’t worry – I’m here to help you. At OK dental educational Hub you can find all the tips, equipment advice, and much more. I hope you like it here!
